PHNOM PENH · 7–13 MAR 2027
23 questions, answered plainly. If yours is not here, ask us.
Booking and payment
01What does it cost?+
From £1,375 per golfer sharing at TRIBE, up to £1,755 for a single SOMA Deluxe. That covers six nights bed and breakfast, all four rounds, every transfer and both dinners. Full pricing here.
02How do I secure a place?+
Put your name down on the registration page — nothing to pay at that point. A £150 deposit per golfer, £300 per pair, confirms it when you are ready.
03When is the balance due?+
10 January 2027, which is eight weeks before travel. Entries close around 20 February 2027.
04Is the deposit refundable?+
No. The deposit is non-refundable and secures your place. Cancel before 10 January 2027 and that is all you lose. After that the charge rises: 50% to 6 February, 75% to 20 February, and from 21 February — the fortnight before we start — the full amount with no refund, whatever the reason. Full terms here.
05What if my flight is cancelled?+
Flights are not part of the package and we do not book them, so a cancelled or delayed flight does not change what you owe — the cancellation charges still apply in full. That is what your travel insurance is for, and holding a policy that covers trip disruption is a condition of entry.
06What currency am I charged in?+
British Pound Sterling. Euro and rand figures on this site are indicative, converted at £1 = €1.17 and £1 = R22.
The golf
07Can I enter on my own?+
Yes. Solo entrants are welcome and we pair you with another single golfer.
08What is the handicap limit?+
32 for men and 36 for ladies — the maximum amateur handicaps.
09What are the formats?+
Scramble, Better Ball Stableford, Greensomes and Combined Stableford. Rounds 2 and 4 carry double and triple points. The four courses here.
10How does the leaderboard work?+
Pairs are awarded points for their finishing position in every round — 1st = 100 points, 2nd = 96, and so on down the field — tallied across the week. Two rounds carry extra weight: the Better Ball round scores double points, and the final round scores triple points, so the order of merit can still change on the last day.
11What do the winners get?+
The winning pair play the 2028 Festival free, worth €3,000. Second place gets 50% off, third 25% off, and all three receive golf goodies. The prize pool across the field is €8,000.
12Do I need my own buggy?+
A single buggy is included at Vattanac and both Chhun On courses. Garden City is shared; a single buggy there is US$18 per person per round.
Travel and visas
13Are flights included?+
No. International flights are excluded — you book your own. Everything from arrival at Techo International Airport onward is covered.
14Which airport?+
Techo International (KTI), which opened in October 2025 and replaced the old Phnom Penh International. Some booking systems still show PNH — search KTI. Transfer to the hotel is 50–60 minutes and included.
15Do I need a visa?+
Almost certainly yes. A Cambodian tourist e-visa costs about US$36 and takes roughly three working days at evisa.gov.kh — the only official site. Separately, everyone must submit a free e-Arrival card at arrival.gov.kh within the seven days before flying. Full detail here.
16Is Cambodia safe?+
Phnom Penh carries no elevated travel advisory. The Level 4 warning people find online applies within 50 km of the Thai border, around 300 km away — nothing on this itinerary goes near it. The full answer here.
17What is the weather like in March?+
Peak dry season. Highs of 35–37°C, about 44mm of rain across the whole month and roughly four rainy days. Heat is the consideration, not rain.
Rooms and partners
18Can my partner come if they don't play?+
Yes, at a reduced rate — £570 sharing at TRIBE, £660 at SOMA. That includes the room, breakfast, all transfers and both dinners.
19Which room should I pick?+
If two of you are sharing, we recommend TRIBE XL or SOMA Deluxe — the TRIBE Comfort room is about 20 m², which is snug for two across six nights. Only five of each larger room exist. Compare them here.
20Can I stay extra nights?+
Yes, at both hotels, and a Siem Reap extension with a round at Angkor Golf Resort can be added. Ask us for rates.
On the ground
21What is the Players Portal?+
A mobile portal every entrant gets: live leaderboard, tee-off times, shuttle schedule, the full itinerary, transfer times, and the rules and formats — all in your pocket for the week.
22What is included in the evenings?+
A welcome dinner on a private Mekong river cruise with two hours of drinks, an hour of beers at The Village Bar after Round 1, and the farewell dinner and prizegiving on the TRIBE rooftop with two hours of drinks.
23Do I need to tip the caddies?+
Gratuities for your driver and guide are included. Caddie tips are not — US$15 per round is the suggested amount.
